We now have a new breakfast menu where you can design your own breakfast! - Your Breakfast - Your way.  Each Item only 50 cents, choose from Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Black Pudding, Toast, Beans, Tomato, Fried bread, Hash brown, Mushrooms, Chips. mmmm. We still have all the usual deals hearty breakfast, veggie breakfast, Breakfast bap etc, but also many other items have been hugely reduced, thanks to our hard negotiations with our suppliers, also where else can you get all that plus refillable tea and coffee?. Christmas is coming

Christmas is here once again and its a time of festive cheer, over eating and party nights, well here at the Barge and the Toby we have it all. As many of you who have visited us over the years will know, we close Christmas day to give ourselves and our staff a well earned extra day off to spend with family friends and loved ones. So to make up for we do a none stop Christmas dinner from 1pm - 9pm every day from the 1st of December until the 24th of December. Traditional roast turkey (or roast beef if you prefer) chipolata sausage, stuffing ball, roast and mashed potatoes, sprouts carrots and peas and a delicious home made gravy all for the amazing price of 7.50€, Also this year we have added a new festive sundae, delicious vanilla ice-cream smothered with warm Christmas mincemeat topped with whipped cream and almonds. don't forget we get busy Christmas eve and new years eve so to avoid disappointment please book a table. click here to book

Poppy Appeal 12th November 2008

Many Thanks to all the staff and customers who helped us raised a fantastic amount of money this year for the British Legion Poppy appeal. The Barge raised 806.48€ and The Toby raised 165.31€ congratulations and well done to everyone!   Thanks Ged & Lisa xx

September news - road works in Puerto del Carmen

Just to let you know about the roadworks in Puerto del Carmen starting between 22/09/08 and 29/09/08 which will continue for an estimated 3 months, the section effected is from Avenida de las playas, Hotel Fariones to the Casino, although apparently you can still come down the hill to the Fariones Hotel and go back up the hill, also you can come down Calle Doramas along the Avenida and up Calle Cesar Manrique. I will try and keep you posted on how the roadworks are going once started Lisa x

(01/10/08 The main avenida is still open although by the casino half of the road is dug up but you can still drive both ways)

New menu

Once again we have made a few changes to our menu, we have added a delicious tuna melt toastie, and a tuna mayo wrap, we now have a new build it up burger where you decide what you would like on your burger you can be as boring or outrageous as you like, lamb chops have been replaced by pork chops and we have also added a new dessert malteeser and toffee sundae yum yum yum! congratulations to all the lads and lasses from the Barge and the Toby who played beach footie and managed to get through to the final on sat. The first game they drew 1-1 with Nikki beach, the drew 1-1 with Sunset beach, then in the amazing ultimate game they won 2-0 against Hippodrome. sadly on saturday we got beat by a team rafa! well done to all who played you did yourselves proud. Ironkids & Ironman - 23rd & 24th May 2008

Wow What another fantastic year!

Ironkids - as usual we were down the Toby on the friday evening for ironkids, what a great night we had, 1190 kids and 5 races, all the kids did brilliant. Congratulations to Jack it was his 5th ironkids and to Layla it was her 3rd! well done to you both and to all kids! What great support they had so many friends came down to show support!

Ironman - Congratulations to The Belgian triathlete, Bert Jammaer, won Ironman Lanzarote with a time of 8:59:38 on Saturday with British Athlete, Bella Comerford, taking the Ladies Event (10:02.38). Local favourite, Gregorio Cáceres Morales finished fifth in a time of 9:11:32.
Jammaer took the lead early in the bicycle leg after a strong swim and never relinquished his lead. The Finn, Teemu Toivanen, finished second with a time of 9:08:15, while pre-race favourite, Ain-Alar Juhanson (Estonia) could only manage third with a time of 9:08:37

We were down the Barge saturday afternoon its now become a tradition of ours to drink sangria and shout for the brits!

The Toby has had a make over! A big thanks to everyone who has helped us. We have had a total change of colour scheme, new seat covers, new tables and chairs, new back of bar and new shelving in the kitchen, our fantastic staff worked so hard over the 3 days to make it all possible.. a very big big thankyou to RICKY - and all your 5am starts, your part of our family now!, Rob - kings of gloss and odd jobs, shelly - fastest painter in pdc, Jack- don't forget your ladders next time!, kelly - arh bless her head, Billy - who gets roped into every thing by our kid, Sam - bless you, Rita said there was nothing that girl wouldn't do,Chris - scrubberboy, Gedi - king of the tool box! and me (lisa) i did a bit of painting to, and a MASSIVE WHEY HEY to KEN and RITA for their earlie mornings, endless lists general organization of the military style make over! you did a GRAND job! Thanks a million.............

Carnival 2008 ! feb 08

A Big Big thanks to all who visited us on carnival day, we had a fantastic day at the Barge. Ged was only half the man he used to be! the beard was worth it after all. (see our gallery for some pictures). Andy and Angie made fantastic pirates, and Emma and Rachel could barely move in their basks! we hope you all enjoyed it as much as us!
